Video of the Day: Conan’s Hilarious Takedown of the TGI Friday’s Booze Scam

Because the chain just might be serving canned tuna instead of "Wood Fired Alaskan Salmon."

Given that TGI Friday’s was caught a couple months back serving cheap hooch in place of top shelf liquor—including rubbing alcohol mixed with caramel coloring in place of scotch—it’s only right for Conan O’Brien to assume that this kind of thing doesn’t stop at the drinks. Conan presents a TGI Friday’s commercial spoof of foods that the chain might be passing off as their fancily named menu items, like a stack of baloney slices in place of “prime filet mignon,” and fruit loops and styrofoam packing peanuts in place of “Florentine pasta served with fresh herbs and a delicious shrimp skewer.” The only thing that we were confused about: Why would you be disappointed if a Twinkie showed up on your plate instead of New York cheesecake?
