The Chefs Who Won Social Media This Week

  • Smoked turkey, bacon, tomato relish, and sharp white cheddar melted onto a pretzel
from @clementinefoods. Now
that’s a grilled cheese.
  • The special at Momofuku Noodle Bar: prawn
ramen with green curry, papaya and chili. (Photo: @momolongplay)
  • Is that mango and peekytoe crab salad we spy at @empellon? It definitely is, because that’s what the caption says.
  • Hmm, a picknicky meal with finger foods like crispy pork tacos, smashed avocado
pickles, and “love.” Guess who. (Photo: @jamieoliver)
  • @russanddaughters caught you a “rare gastronomic experience”: wild Baltic smoked salmon.
  • @coolhaus brings you a brown butter, candied bacon, chocolate chip sammie oh man, oh man, oh man, oh…
  • Newcomer to our roundup @wildcraftpizza comes through with a serious carbonara pizza.
  • We’re still reaping the benefits of @jennlouis' gnocchi book tour, especially with class lunches like this one.
  • Foie gras at The Spence in Atlanta was served with pancakes and strawberries.

  • Do our eyes deceive us? Did @tylerflorence say fried duck wings with roasted onion honey butter
and Calabrian chili oil?
  • Just because we’re also getting nice weather on the East Coast doesn’t mean we’re not still jealous of the West and this red snapper ceviche with guajillo crème fraîche from @heirloomla.

Following friends who eat out a lot on Instagram and Twitter is one way to stay on top of the food scene, but why not go straight to the source? Chefs are just as likely to wield smartphones as Japanese knives these days, and they often bring you behind the scenes at their restaurants, tweeting brand-new specials, off-the-menu creations, and experimental dishes in the works.

In keeping with the season, this week brings us a next-level ice-cream sandwich, a pretzel grilled cheese from California, and a warm-weather picnic from sometimes-sunny England. These are things that are made to be eaten outside—or, in your case, stared at through a computer screen. Let’s take a look at the best snaps from chef- and restaurant-run social media accounts.
