We all grew up knowing and loving the “Got Milk?” ad campaign.
The ad first appeared in 1993, and featured supermodel Naomi Campbell wearing a milk mustache in 1994. Now, the recognizable campaign is getting nixed as the industry looks for a new tagline to increase milk consumption amid declining sales.
The new milk advertisements, which roll out today, will have the tagline “Milk Life,” feature ordinary people, and tout the fact that milk is high in protein. Take a look at one of the ads below.
Ok, real talk: Is “Milk Life” a spin on “Thug Life”? Did the ad agency resurrect Tupac and ask him to come up with their new tagline?
Sal Taibi, president of Lowe Campbell Ewald—the agency involved in the “Got Milk” ads—tries to explain the campaign redesign:
“In the past, we have been saying that everyone needs to drink milk. Now, we are showing what milk does for you.”

When put up against the now defunct “Got Milk?” campaign, this ad/tagline is kind of weak. We’re not the only ones who feel this way.
