Michelle Obama announced Wednesday that Sesame Workshop, who owns the rights to all the Sesame Street characters, is waiving the licensing fees for their characters for two years to be used as promotional tools for produce companiesa huge step for Obama’s “Let’s Move!” campaign.

In her speech, Obama cites studies showing that promoting foods with children’s characters doubles a child’s interest in that food. Speaking optimistically of the power of these characters in marketing, the first lady looked hopefully toward the future: “Imagine what it will be like to have our kids begging us to buy them fruits and vegetables instead of cookies, candy, and chips.”

In the clip above, watch Obama hang out with Elmo and Rosalita, flash her famous guns, and talk favorite vegetables. Afterwords, the trio headed to the White House garden, along with some lucky kids from the area, to harvest Fall’s finest and make dinner together.

So don’t be alarmed when you start seeing Burt & Ernie popping up in your local grocery store. They’re just trying to steer kids away from that giant bag of sour gummy worms.
