Delis are American institutions. The deli is the perfect place to grab a hot cup of coffee, the newspaper, and a big, meaty sandwich dripping with grease. We love deli sandwiches that come from all over the country, including the pastrami sandwiches at both Langer’s in L.A. and Katz’s in NYC, the tuna and egg salad sandwich from Eisenberg’s, and the BLT with chopped liver on challah from Mile End Deli. Yeah, a sandwich assembled at home can be great, but a deli sandwich (when done right) is a true thing of beauty.

There’s a great big world of fantastic deli sandwiches out there. So if you’re looking for some lunch inspiration, get up from your desk, find the closest deli to you, and go H.A.M.
