Every year we promise to be good and stick to kale during the holiday season, but once that first whiff of chocolate and butter comes our way…we’re goners. You already have your post-Thanksgiving pants on, so why not get comfortable and treat yourself to a cookie with lunch? Surviving drunk relatives over the weekend deserves a reward.

We love cookies that come from all over the country, including the chocolate chip variety from Levain Bakery in NYC, the double chocolate World Peace Cookies from Beurre & Sel, and just about any cookie sold at Pearl Bakery in Portland, Oregon. And sometimes, there’s just nothing better than a tray of warm chocolate chip cookies baked in your oven at home.

There’s a great big world of fantastic cookies out there. So if you’re looking for some post-lunch inspiration, get up from your desk, find the closest cookies to you, and go H.A.M.

Click through the slideshow for pictures of the illest cookies on the planet.
