London Fish & Chips Shop Gets First Ever Artist-In-Residence

Urbanites ruin everything, including humble fish and chips.

The FishClub, a fish and chips shop in South London, has its own artist-in-residence. According to Londonist, this collaboration is a world’s first.

London-based artist Jess Wilson has covered the entire chips shop with artwork “inspired by the customers and staff.” Assuming that those queuing up would appreciate this gesture, Wilson will create tiny illustrations for customers in line. And rather than good ol’ traditional newspaper, the fish and chips will come bundled in art-adorned paper. “And in that fine old tradition of fish shop wordplay (see also Codfather, Rock and a Sole Plaice…), the shop will be serving Jackson Pollock and chips all week.”
