Usually, we’re not fans of homemade versions of cheap stuff that’s already delicious—your DIY ketchup and candy bars are cool and all, but we’ll stick with Heinz and a Snickers.
However, we have to admit that this homemade Cardbury Creme Egg recipe from Not With Salt‘s Ashley Rodriguez is pretty awesome. Firstly, for sheer gumption. And secondly, because it sounds like taking out all the artificial ingredients may yield something even tastier than the source material: “The interior is created using a generous amount of butter, Lyle’s golden syrup instead of corn syrup, vanilla bean, salt, and a couple of subtle drops of orange blossom water.”
