The geniuses over at Digg have made a primer on “how not to kill yourself with household items.” Many of these items include standard food and drink like water, cinnamon, potatoes, and chewing gum. So, if you’d like to avoid croaking from ingesting too much of something, we suggest you look below to find out how much of each food and beverage you must ingest before you die.

  • Capsaicin: (found in spicy food): 6 grams
  • Blue cheese: 22 pounds
  • Water: 1.75 gallons
  • Spoiled potato skins: 40 milligrams

  • Carrots: 39 pounds

Digg notes that the information cited in their post “is based on rough estimates calculated for a 154-pound adult” and that “all calculations have been made using peer-reviewed-published LD50s.”
