Jell-O, 1965 Why It’s Awesome: Whew, a bunch of us dodged a bullet when we escaped the experimental gelatin years of the '60s. Back then, it was apparently okay to put olives, fish, potted meats, and eggs into Jell-O.
Welcome to Eat This Tumblr, a new weekly feature where we highlight our favorite food (and sometimes drink) related Tumblrs on the ‘net. First up is Classic Ad Addiction, an impressive archive of scanned print ads from the 1960s and ’70s. While there are plenty of ads for ciggies, tampons, and Maybelline in the mix, we’re most enamored with the throwback food and beverage products—vestiges of a bygone era when Jell-O was the hotness, and booze ads were even more sexist than they are today. Click through the gallery above to see our favorites, then follow Classic Ad Addiction for more vintage inspiration.
