Might retired English soccer star David Beckham be planning his own restaurant chain in America? Today in amazing celebrity rumor-mongering, the Daily Star brings word that the former Manchester United player and footie legend will launch what may very likely be called “Beckham’s Bistro.”

On explaining his reasons behind potentially opening a bistro chain, Beckham says, “I’m a foodie and dining is a big part of this.”

Beckham, who pulled out last minute of running Union Street Café in London with chef Gordon Ramsay a year ago, now has a deal with the Las Vegas Sands Corporation, in which he will be helping to promote the corporation’s holdings in Asia.

A future run-in with chef Ramsay, who owns three restaurants in Vegas and whose television shows are a great hit with the American audience, seems inevitable. Becks would obviously dominate in that brawl.

Philadelphia would be a great place to start. Wouldn’t be the first time Brits came here to begin something wonderful! Ha!
