Last night Food & Wine Magazine editor in chief Dana Cowin began her yearly riddle-fest via Twitter, teasing followers to guess the nominees for Best New Chef 2013. Throughout the day she has posted clues like “midwest morningtree,” to the most recent, “East tunnel in the southeast.” So far, there have been five clues in total, and she has remarked that she is only getting started—there are still five more tweets to go.

Some good guesses have included Jamie Malone of Minnesota’s Sea Change in response to “fishy global warming,” Michael Voltaggio of Ink for “Tattoo necessity,” and Danny Bowien for “Asian Salvation in NYC.” Check out the gallery above to see all of Cowin’s clues.

In addition to the all the hints provided by Cowin comes the already-revealed list for Best New Pastry Chefs 2013, which was also released today.
