Watch Chef Star Jon Favreau Do a Junk Food Plating Demo at SXSW

“I’m not saying I’m a chef, but I could get a job in a kitchen now," says Favreau.

Jon Favreau, director of the Ironman series and writer/director/star of the upcoming film Chef, is at SXSW showing off his newfound culinary prowess.

In the video above, Complex editor Tara Aquino asks Favreau to put his chef training to the test and create a composed plate of from the contents of her “SXSW survival pack,” which includes:

  • M&Ms
  • Reese’s
  • Wasabi peas
  • Ruffles
  • Kit Kat

Favreau explains that Kogi chef Roy Choi came on as a consultant for the movie, and ended up co-producing the entire film. Choi taught Favreau a thing or two, and now, Favreau says,

“I’m not saying I’m a chef, but I could get a job in a kitchen now.”

Chef premiered over the weekend at SXSW in Austin, Texas. Here’s a clip from the film:
