The burger giant is giving away Satisfries—the fries it’s touting as a lower-calorie option to regular fries—tomorrow and Sunday at participating locations. The fries might not be the real deal, but still, they are free, and if you’re interested in burgeoning fast food trends you should give them a try.
The freebie will be the so-called value-size Satisfries, which normally sell for $1.29. Burger King expects to give away upwards of 10 million orders, says Alex Macedo, Burger King’s president of North America.
The Satisfries have 30% less fat and 20% fewer calories than Burger King’s regular fries. Still, as The Huffington Post points out, the low(er) calorie fries aren’t exactly “health food”; a small serving packs 270 calories, which still seems like an indulgence. Is the only way Burger King can get the masses to try its new Satisfries by giving them away for free? Either way, we all like free food, so if you’re feeling peckish and thrifty this weekend, go get yourself a value-size Satisfries.
