One woman had a finger-lickin’ bad experience at a KFC recently and wasn’t a fan of her offal-infused meal. According to Fox News, 22-year-old Cassandra Perkins ordered wings, fries, gravy, and a fountain drink at a location in Northampton, England last week and found something unexpected in her order. She says she noticed a “pink thing” that “may have been brain” in her meal.

A grossed-out Perkins told the Northampton Chronicle, “It looked disgusting and pink, I didn’t want to touch it… I first thought that it may have been brain or lung, it certainly wasn’t chicken. My burger had a hair in it as well.” Understandably, Perkins has no desire to eat at the chain again.

KFC has apologized for the incident. A spokesperson explained that the “pink thing” was, in fact, a chicken’s giblets that should have been removed, but was not. Giblets are also known as offal (a.k.a., organs like the heart, gizzard, and liver). While many people enjoy eating offal, it has to be properly prepared, not stuffed raw into a deep-fried chicken wing at a chain restaurant.

This isn’t the first time someone has complained of finding something that wasn’t chicken in their KFC order. Last year, a man alleged that his chicken tender was actually deep-fried rat. However, the restaurant tested the meat and found that it was just an oddly shaped cut of chicken at the end of the day.
