Alan Rickman was more than just an immensely talented actor and director. He was also an incredible humanitarian. Just look at one of his last projects: a narrated video of a tortoise snacking on a strawberry. The video was created by OneClickGiving, an organization found by Oxford University students that aims to raise money for Save the Children and the Refugee Council. Rickman narrates,

“We’re trying to make a viral video to help refugees. We’re slowly gathering views as this tortoise munches away. The more views the video gets, the more advertising revenue YouTube will give us.”

Boy, have they succeeded. The video has already racked in over two-million views. If you think about it, the video was destined for success. It has all the components of a viral video:

  1. Cute animal
  2. Food
  3. Cute animal eating food

Plus, it’s for a good cause.

So go on, watch this video a few more times. It’s only 29 seconds long. And it’s Alan Rickman talking over a turtle.
