By now you’re probably more than a little familiar with the #PizzaRat craze that swept the nation this past September, prompting countless Americans to grab their cameras and film animals scavenging for human food. Whatever feelings you have about the phenomenon, it’s admittedly hard to stop watching furry critters carry around slices of ‘za, especially in subways.

New York Magazine gets that. Which is why the publication conducted the ultimate #PizzaRat taste test to decide, once and for all, which pizzeria New York rats think is supreme. NY Mag ordered pies from four iconic pizzerias in both Manhattan and Brooklyn, and left the decision of the best pie up to the rats themselves.

Here’s how it went down:

Williamsburg PizzaW

Slices: 2

Popularity: This pie was so popular that the rats decided to come back for seconds.

Motorino

M

Slices: 3.8

Popularity: Looks like the rodents are partial to a Neapolitan-style pizza, with a light, airy crust. We can’t blame them.

Grimaldi’s

G

Slices: 0

Popularity: Maybe the rat was influenced by a bad Yelp review? One can only guess that he’s thinking “overrated.”

Lombardi’s

L

Slices: 8

Popularity: They pretty much demolished the entire pie. All hail Lombardi’s!
