A few things are certain to occur every fall: Colorful foliage, cider, and misery produced from college-football results. University of Michigan football fans received their first sh*t outcome of the season after the Wolverines lost to the University of Utah on Thursday, 24-17, in Salt Lake City.

However, one particular group of U-of-M supporters was feeling particularly benevolent despite the outcome. According to the Salt Lake City Tribune, a waitress named Breanne Snow at The Bourbon House was the recipient of a $3,000 tip on a $505 tab from reported visiting Wolverine fans.

Snow then spoke with the newspaper about her reaction.

“I went and cried in the corner for a couple minutes,” Snow said. She said she and her boyfriend both work two jobs to pay off debt. “We’re working so hard and never see the payout from it,” she said. “It came as such a relief. He could have picked anyone else in there, and for him to pick me, it meant a lot because we were working so hard.”

The unnamed tipper(s) left the gratuity in the name of social-media accounts @TipsForJesus, which, according to the Tribune, started in Ann Arbor, MI (where the University of Michigan is located) in 2013. The person who signed the check also wrote down “#GoBlue” and “#Hail” as references to his collegiate-athletics allegiance, but we’re assuming Snow didn’t care about the low-key boasts when she got to take home an additional $3,000 after her shift.
