In the early days of Y2K, the electric-blue liqueur Hpnotiq was ubiquitous in rap lyrics and videos. Back in 2005, Kanye rapped “Hpnotiq for Henny? Now nigga that’s a chaser“; just a year earlier, Diddy professed he’d “Give you Hpnotiq to get you erotic.” Eventually, the genre’s penchant for the beverage waned and it faded into the distance.

Now Hpnotiq is staging a comeback. According to a recent release from the company, “Hpnotiq is enlisting hip-hop artist Cam’ron, artist Naturel, rapper and artist Yung Jake, and New York-based DJ and entrepreneur Va$htie Kola—otherwise known as the Hpnotiq ‘Class of 2001’—to tap into consumers’ nostalgia for the 1990s and early 2000s via a full brand makeover.”

That’s a pretty good lineup of Hpnotiq ambassadors if you ask us. Come to think of it, maybe they should have thrown Weezy in there for good measure.

We have no doubt that the return of the blue drink means there will be a resurgence of the Incredible Hulk, a mixture of Henny and Hpnotiqand we can not wait. Mark our words: It’s only a matter of time before PDT adds an Incredible Hulk cocktail to its menu.

When you roll to your friend’s kickback over Labor Day, be sure to bring a bottle of Hpnotiq, and yell out “Hey hey hey, I’m what’s happ’nin / Hpnotiq in my drink (that’s right!).” If anyone questions you, feel free to reference this article.
