The genius idea (really, what has taken so long?) will encompass three different Ratatouille-inspired elements: a ride, Ratatouille: The Adventure, a 370-seat restaurant, Bistrot Chez Rémy, and a Rémy-inspired Paris streetscape. (Rémy is the Pixar film’s talented rat chef and protagonist—but please tell us you knew that already.)
Does the Paris-within-Paris experience sound half-baked? Quite the contrary, according to the press release:
Intense is right. The entire venture intends to reflect the experience of being, well, a Parisian rat.
In the case of the ride, this means dodging the ever-looming presence of the villainous Chef Skinner in the ‘ratmobile’ and avoiding the many perils of his kitchen. “Now guests can really experience what it’s like to be a little creature in a human-sized world as they dart quickly from hiding place to hiding place during this zany culinary adventure,” notes the press release.
Ditto for the restaurant; diners will “shrink” down to rat size to enjoy their French fare, with champagne corks serving as dining chairs and paper cocktail umbrellas as parasols. Of course, ratatouille will be served, and of course we’re loving everything about the whole damn thing. Below is a rendering of the bistro, via Eater, which indicates rat chefs might be making the rounds. We’re into that, too.
We’re never short on reasons to visit the Paris, and this Ratatouille world might just be our tipping point.
Think we’re crazy? Well, you’re just one less person we have to elbow out of the way in line.
