In Chipotle’s 2013 annual report, the company states that it could have to nix guacamole from its menu. Why would Chipotle commit such a crime? Because climate change and dramatic shifts in weather have royally messed up the avocado market. Think Progress reports Chipotle uses 97,000 pounds of avocado daily to make its guac. So, this is kind of a big deal for the burrito chain.
But apparently, it’s an even bigger deal for Chipotle lovers and guacamole fans, who are finally paying attention to global warming now that their guacamole supply has been threatened.
