Top Chef-winning, celebrated chef Michael Voltaggio (of ink. and ink.sack) has made a beast of a burger for the Umami Burger chain. It’s called the Monte Cristo burger, and it consists of Umami’s signature beef patty smothered in gruyere fondue and prosciutto, tucked into a custard-soaked, fried bun and topped with powdered sugar and served with a side of Umami maple syrup. Put it this way: we’re not saying we don’t want to get high and eat one.
The Monte Cristo burger will be available nationwide on Tuesday, January 28. One dollar from the sale of each burger goes to the Los Angeles Mission. Here’s some other stuff we loved today.
