Back in October, over $25,000 of prized Pappy Van Winkle bourbon was stolen from Buffalo Trace Distillery. The illusive bourbon thief still has not been caught, so a $10,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever stole the hard-to-get Pappy, reports The Associated Press.
Sheriff Pat Melton of Kentucky’s Franklin County announced the monetary reward on Monday. Authorities have monitored websites and interviewed more than 100 people since the whiskey was taken, but they have yet to locate the culprit. “We’re just trying to bring Pappy home,” Melton told AP.
Detectives have also been scanning Craigslist, eBay, and bourbon blogs in an attempt to track down the stolen spirits. Melton also mentioned that many other “eyes and ears” of bourbon lovers are on the look out for the missing bottles.
With this new $10,000 reward being offered, Melton is confident they will catch the Pappy thief. “The net is narrowing,” Melton told AP (without elaborating on exactly what that means).
