Today, Michelin awarded a third star to Ueberfahrt, a restaurant in Bavaria, Germany. The award brings the number of three-star eateries in Germany to a record 11, ranking the nation second only to France in Europe for gourmet dining, reports Bloomberg.
UEBER. FAHRT. This name is amazing because bathroom humor is awesome (especially when it’s brought up in the context of Michelin-starred restaurants.) Apparently, Bloomberg‘s Ryan Sutton thinks it’s funny, as does Pulitzer prize-winning food writer Jonathan Gold—not to mention a bunch of other people on Twitter. Sutton first tweeted the name out as “Uberfahrt” (instead of Ueberfahrt), which makes it even more hilariously awesome.
