Taking creeper cues from Burger King, Atlanta pizza chain restaurant Mellow Mushroom has come up with an advertising campaign that’s scarier than anything your likely to see this Halloween. The goal of their efforts is simply to get people to follow them on Twitter, but the tactics seem more likely to get them followed by law-enforcement officials.

Complete with a soundtrack fitting for a thriller film, the ad shows Mellow Mushroom stalking various folks as they go about their daily business. The sluggish looking mushroom mascot has a friend who joins in the action from time to time. There doesn’t seem to be any indication of other so-called Twitter incentives aside from being stalked. In other words, the ad does a good job of reinforcing all of our deepest fears about the Internet.
