John Holl says: "As one of the first craft beers to push the limits of high alcohol percentages, the Utopias continue to have an air of mystery about them. First released a decade ago and usually put out every two years, each incarnation is aged in various wine and spirits barrels, giving the beers complex boozy characteristics, akin to a fine cognac. Adding to the allure is the high price tag—close to $200 per bottle—as well as the vessel it comes in (it’s shaped like a brew kettle)."
