Patagonia, the outdoor apparel company, and Colorado’s New Belgium Brewing (makers of Fat Tire Amber Ale) have joined forces to create California Route, a limited-release organic lager. The beer celebrates Patagonia’s 40-year anniversary, and is perfect for all of your outdoor adventures.

According to the press release, the California common-style beer has “California lager yeast with subtle fruity esters and a refreshing light lager finish.” It has notes of citrusy Cascade hops and a heavy dose of noble hallertau hops, which are typically fruity and spicy. The beer is brewed with organic Munich specialty malt, which imparts “hints of freshly baked bread.” This sounds like a beer we want to sip on the slopes and drink at the top of Mount Everest.

California Route is 5.5% ABV and sold in 12-ounce cans. The beer will be sold in Seattle, Portland, Chicago, Boulder, Denver, Boston, NYC, Santa Monica, San Francisco, Palo Alto, Cardiff, and Ventura. If you don’t call one of these cities home, we feel for you.
