Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have recently added “winemakers” to their list of never-ending titles, eliciting plenty of eye-rolls from Internet commenters suspicious of the power couple’s real interest in the vino industry. A Buzzfeed tasting of another wine from the vineyard they bought in the South of France didn’t portend great things—pro sommelier Michael Madrigale called it “fart wine.”

However, the first official release from Brangelina—a 2012 Château Miraval Côtes de Provence Rosé—may actually be kind of good. It sold out within five hours, though that doesn’t tell us much—beautiful people can sell water to a well in this country. More convincingly, the wine scored a 90, or “outstanding,” from Wine Spectator, and now, pro vintner Joe Bastianich (the Restaurant Man) tells Vanity Fair that the Cabernet Sauvignon/Syrah blend holds up past its showy packaging. His verdict: “This is a legitimate wine.”

At very least, it’s likely better than the juice from Drew Barrymore and Dave Matthews.
