Free Beer at Sochi, But Only for Canadians

There's a beer fridge at the Sochi Winter Olympics that only opens for Canadians. We say: Just use one of the many stray dogs roaming around in Sochi to prop the door open (duh).

There’s a beer fridge at the Sochi Winter Olympics that only opens for Canadians. First thought: This is the worst and dumbest concept ever and we feel left oot. Admittedly, we’d probably feel a bit different if we were Canadian.

The fridge—which is part of a marketing campaign from Molson beer—dispenses free drinks only once someone has scanned their Canadian passports to verify their identity. The machine in the above image is located in the Canada Olympic House. Molson has also released a commercial showing the beer fridge in various locations throughout Europe. Watch it below.

It doesn’t take a genius to know that if you are in Sochi, you should simply find a Canadian, force the Canadian to use their passport to open the fridge, then prop it open with a stray dog or a jug of “cok juice”.

Force a Canadian to open the door and get you a beer? Never, we would gladly be sociable and offer you a beer.
