Whether they are a brunch lover or hater, most people will agree that as far as cocktails go, the mimosa is pretty lame. There are no garnishes, no muddling, no pretty ice cubes—just champagne mixed with orange juice. According to Time, one San Antonio restaurant, however, wants to change the drink’s reputation and has given the boring mimosa a splashy, over-the-top makeover.
Nectar Wine Bar & Ale House is now serving an “Ultimate Mimosa” which is garnished with pretty much everything on the brunch menu. There’s skewers of fruit (need something healthy), cheese, smoked salmon, muffins, and even a half of a lobster tail jutting out of the drink. The restaurant claims the drink also features a skewer of caviar, but we’re not quite sure about how one would skewer caviar. One of the mimosas—which is served in a ~trendy~ mason jar—will set you back $28. On the plus side, you don’t have to spend any additional money on food.

The Ultimate Mimosa is actually quite tame compared to the garnishes that another favorite brunch drink, the Bloody Mary, has endured over the past few years. At Sobelman’s in Milwaukee, customers can order a decadent Bloody topped with shrimp, sausage, and a cheeseburger slider. Score on Davie, a restaurant in Vancouver, has taken the drink to a whole new level and offers a version garnished with a full roast chicken. a burger, chicken wings, a hot dog, onion rings, and a brownie for just $60.
