Summertime is all about finding creative ways to beat the heat in the most delicious way possible, and ice cream is usually at the top of the list. Those who are looking for a portable, drive thru-ready option can find one at Carl’s Jr., where the company has upped their game from 2013’s Pop Tart Ice Cream Sandwich to create a Ding Dong (yes, like the Hostess cake) sandwich stuffed with ice cream.
Each Ding Dong Ice Cream Sandwich clocks in at 290 calories and 15 (!) grams of fat, but ends up being nowhere near as gluttonous as some of its fast food ice-cream siblings. Here are some of the most legendary.
McDonald’s Shamrock Shake

Honorable Mention: McFlurry, obviously.
Sonic’s Waffle Cone Sundae (with Strawberries and M&Ms)
Sure, it kind of looks like a clown hosted a party on top of a waffle cone, but what’s not to love about strawberries and chocolate together? (Photo: Sonic)
Dairy Queen’s Dilly Bar
The DQ Dilly Bar is able to combine the wonderful candy-shell texture of a dipped sundae with portability by adding a stick. It’s genius in its simplicity. (Photo: Dairy Queen)
Honorable Mention: The entire roster of Blizzards.
It’s a classic for a reason—don’t forget to dip your fries! (Photo: Wendy’s)
Burger King’s Hershey’s Sundae Pie
This triple chocolate pie is like an upgraded version of every ice cream cake you enjoyed during skating rink birthday parties. Bonus? It’s insanely inexpensive. (Photo: Burger King)
