Who loves orange soda? We do, no matter if we’re talking Fanta, Jarritos, Cactus Cooler, or good ole Sunkist.
And that’s why we almost peed ourselves when we saw Food52‘s recipe for homemade orange soda, which is all natural and extremely refreshing when mixed with gin or vodka. Turn up from scratch!
DIY Orange Soda
- 4 oranges
- 1 lime
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- Lemon lime seltzer water
Zest the oranges and limes, and juice the oranges.
Add the zest and juice to a pot with sugar. Bring everything to a boil, then reduce to a simmer.
After simmering for 8 to 10 minutes, pour the syrup through a mesh strainer.
When you’re ready for your from-scratch orange soda, mix one part syrup with two parts seltzer in a glass with ice (and your booze of choice).
